the children in the community are terrified of him because of his past. scout, jem and dill made up a game called the boo radley game (lee8). they thought up ways of attempting to lure boo out of his house such as poking at the windows or even running up to his door, touching it then running away (14). boo radley is a major part of the childrens imagination because they are intrigued by his absence from the community that led them to think up the game, hey boo(247). this quote is significant to the topic of the childrens imagination because it is the turning point of when scout finally realizes that the childish games they play a good place to do homework not as they seem anymore. this is the point in the novel where scout finally makes the transition from childhood innocence to the adult world. dill had started crying and couldnt stop(198 ).
